Letter to the editor in August 5 Naples Daily News
What a difference an acre makes. One Naples has consistently compared its proposed high-rises to Trieste across the street (Vanderbilt Beach Road in North Naples). Trieste stands on 4.75 acres surrounded mostly by wetlands.
The One Naples development wants to put up two high-rises, one possibly for hotel use, and five other buildings on just an acre more. Oh, and the entrance would be just across the street from the only public parking structure for tiny Vanderbilt Beach park. The developer promises to pay for a traffic light, because of all the increased traffic, both pedestrian and cars.
Could the newspaper show with another story how the high-rises and other buildings would look to their very close neighbors north of the project? The original photos of Pelican Bay high-rises and the very small entrance drawing with the article were very misleading and not really descriptive. The community would be very interested.
