Condo towers plan looms over beach
The proposed One Naples development at Vanderbilt Beach will go before the Collier County Planning Commission soon.
Many of our winter residents will be absent because they have returned home. However, some of us will return to voice our concerns about the detrimental impact these massive buildings would have on our close environment and Collier County.
Our precious Vanderbilt Beach’s scarce resources will be taxed even more. There will be more people, more traffic, more trash and less sand to place our chairs.
To those who appreciate seeing dolphins swimming in tandem and manatees surfacing for air; walking on the beach and scrunching the sand between your toes; and gazing in amazement at our beautiful sunsets, speak out against those who would take this away and ruin the love and warmth we all feel for Vanderbilt Beach.
Do not let them erect more concrete monuments to themselves. Unless residents speak out with displeasure, our commissioners will not heed the message.
